The irony occurs when he names the agent in charge of gunning down the Russian President during his visit to NY to attend the funeral of the lately deceased American Vice President: Evelyn Salt.

Concerning this controversy, Evelyn becomes more worried about her husband Mike’s safety, whom she cannot contact. She tries hard to puzzle out the truth behind her identity, but her efforts to prove herself white cast doubt upon her intentions, which continues to leave a question mark on her motives.
